irrevocably into the city's criminal underbelly. Murder and scandal
abound in this tale of corruption populated with a surprising mix of
offenders, from low-level thugs to government officials and all the way
up to the royal family. ~netflix] finally! jason statham in a
good movie! i totally forgot that dude could act because he is usually
in some suckfest of a movie. 4 stars.
Baran.

social standing, and his young love. ~netflix] 3 stars. it was
all right. it's slow and stuff and if you're not in the mood for this
movie, i can see how someone might really dislike it. there's not a
whole lot going on in terms of excitement. but i liked it.
Blood Brothers.
[Inspired
by John Woo's renowned Bullet in the Head, this highly stylized
gangster film set in 1930s Shanghai follows three friends from a poor
fishing village who travel to the big city in search of their fortune.
What they find, however, is a seductive criminal underworld that tests
their values and threatens to tear their friendship apart. Daniel Wu, Ye Liu and Tony Yang star. ~netflix]
i don't know about this movie... it was... okay, i guess. i was
expecting a little more, but some parts were pretty lame-y. okay, make
that a lot of parts. the last shootout was okay, i guess... but i
wouldn't really recommend it to anyone else. 2.5 stars. i mean, with
the starpower behind it, you'd think it would be better. pretty disappointing.
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog .
[Dr.
Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is a 43-minute tragicomicmusical in three
acts, each released as a separate episode. It was produced exclusively

Whedon, his brothers Zack Whedon (a television writer) and Jed Whedon
(a composer), and Jed's fiancée, actress Maurissa Tancharoen. The
writing team penned the musical during the WGA writers' strike. The

done, in a way that would circumvent the issues that were being
protested during the strike. ~wikipedia] it was awesome,

a couple of weeks ago, either download it off iTunes or you can also
watch it

know. i love the new doctor more, i think... but i still enjoy the old

i see on netflix that they're making a hollywood remake of this

and jason bateman are in it, so i'll definitely be keeping an eye out
for it. 5 stars for this mini-series.

Comments
Grace, we're not friends anymore. You gave Harold and Kumar Escape Guantanamo Bay 3 stars.
To summarize our friendship : EPIC LOSS! (j/k)
You have to admit though, the guy who played the Homeland Security Agent was hilarious with his racial epithets.
And how could you not like the scene where the translator said, "I think he's speaking a different dialect of Korean I never heard of"
and YES. you NEED to watch dr. horrible. it's pretty short. like, 45 mins total. :)
the homeland security guy was cracking me up, though. for sure.
and it's not that i didn't like the movie. i liked it. i just didn't LOVE it. not as much as the first, anyway...
Btw, thanks for the review on "Brood Brothers". I was about to pick that up at Best Buy for like $12, only because the John Woo name was on it. John Woo is like Coca-Cola to me, name recognition and guaranteed action. But after reading your review (and your word is gold with me) I'm glad i deferred on dumping $12 for this. TIMES ARE TOUGH NIGGA! Gotta watch every dolla...HOLLA! (Ok remind me to never get ghetto on you EVER again)
Then again...John Woo did make "Hard Target" with Jean Fraud Van Damme...EPIC FAIL!!!
I remember that in elementay school we all filed into the gym and watched The Five Doctors. In elementary school. Don't ask me why.
And, dude? The Dr. Who theme song rocks. You need to listen to this. I have it on my iPod running playlist.
hehe. that's awesome. i had to laugh, though because it was so testosterone-y. hehe.
i guess someone in your school's administration reaaaaally loved doctor who? hehe :D i wish i got to watch cool stuff in elementary school!
i will remind you to never get ghetto on me again. hehe. :P
i never watched Hard Target. i try to avoid van damme as much as possible. hehe.
i just finished harold and kumar 2 today... it had its moments but definitely not as fresh as the original. you can't beat the original on this one. it can't be done. i do love rob corddry though. funny mofo.
And Dr. Horrible was pretty good. I've let ET watch the first episode (as it is the most child friendly act) and I've caught him singing Bad Horse. :-)
No reviews from Mia this time? How on earth am I supposed to know what to let The Boy watch?
Oh, and I have to go back through your old reviews and see what you're playing because the XBox is now hooked up...
haha! i love that Bad Horse song. cracks me up.
if it makes it easier, you might want to log out of vox and look at my public posts so you can just see the entertainment posts. i haven't been playing too much lately. i am SO far behind in games. i have a huge stack right now. *shakes head* i don't know WHEN i'm gonna catch up!
Now I just want a Two Doctors film-length episode, with Christopher Eccleston & David Tennant. CE's Doctor rocked - he had just the right amount of instability about him. Never knew if he was going to shoot the bad guy in the face or not : )
heh. I loved HeMan!!! We were just talking about all the cartoons we grew up on... Kids nowadays just don't know.
i rest my case.
just kidding, "ethan batista."
i thought Jason Statham only starred in bad movies. i might check that one out. Dr. Horrible rules!
dr. horrible!!!! i want to watch it again and again and again. hehe. i love the songs, too.
speaking of morals...
I just told my friend Sam that he was my very own Captain Planet. LOL. remember that one?!
I'm all about the Thundercats... Voltron...
