comic-con 2008 [or, i should go away from mia more often]

Comments

holy busy weekend! shit!

was this at the convention center down there? that's about the only place in SD i know but that place is really massive. i can see 11 miles of walking around in there.

"My fists are not the hammer."

"We do the wierd stuff!"

Dr. Horrible was awesome. sound like you had a great time.

[this is good]
oooh, grrrace, you're making it so hard for me to do my damned homework! i don't wanna read anymore; all i wanna do is read this post in all its detail and then hit all the sweet links you've included.

ok, i'm gonna use it as motivation to get my crap done, so i can come back and read and link as above said. thanks, lady. :)
yup. the SD conv ctr. it's pretty large. and the way the floor's set up, you basically walk up and down the aisles, so yeah. it's a whole lotta walkin'.
hehe. yes. i love dr horrible. they had a screening on... i think friday night. steve went to that. i was too hungry to go...
good luck getting the studying done :D

there are lots of comic-con blogs and stuff up now so if you want more in-depth stuff, you could find lots of stuff online, too :)
i already snuck a quick peek at the trailer for the dr. horrible flick you linked to--sooooooo happy to know joss is making more stuff for me to watch, and with the ever dreamy nathan fillion! i'm lucky your blog hips me to this kind of thing, lady.
it sounds like you saw some pretty good panels. that's awesome. i went to one panel [Vertigo] then rodger pissed me off and i left the Fables panel. that's when you found us at DC Comics. he was meeting me there after we both cooled down. hehe.
i'm looking forward to joss's new show: dollhouse. i think it has real potential. of course it depends on if people watch it or not... i hope the ratings are good... although, i'm not that hopeful about that.

oh, and yes. i LOVE nathan fillion!!! :)
i was in some really good panels. :) i got really lucky a lot of times!

what did that rodger do THIS time? heh. it's easy to lose your temper in that environment, man. i find myself getting more irritable than usual at comic-con sometimes. just the crowds get to me sometimes...

it was good to see you... even if it was brief. heh.
next year i'm going to at least one big panel. this year i didn't have the energy and i was weighed down w/ too much stuff.

pfft...it was something stupid. we were in line for the Fables forum and the writer and artist arrived while we were in line. as i was getting out my Fables for him to sign, the staff told us to go in. we sat down and i was kinda annoyed that i missed my chance. rodger told me to go back outside and i told him to shut up. then he got annoyed w/ me...anyways it was dumb.

i'm glad we got a chance to meet at least once.

oh yeah and i met Nic from toycyte - the non-douchebag. he's a skinny little thing and pretty young. he was really nice and we chit chatted for a bit. rodger thought he was really cute and got jealous for a sec.
aw, what a sweet little baby!!! all the "naughtiness" is cancelled out with hugs, kisses, and "i love you"s. it's an automatic wash. heh. sounds like you had a full, awesome, tiring time!!!
yay i'm glad you had fun at comiccon :D i wish mia said that to me heeheehee :D
Sounded awesome. You should totally leave Mia more often. I thought she was just underappreciating you because you were always there for her. That just proves it!
LOL. rodger's so cute getting jealous about things. hehe...
well, i don't know about ALLLL the naughtiness. just most of it. :P
she has been wanting to talk to you. i'm glad you're coming out this weekend. :)
i know! she is SUCH a little ingrate, isn't she?!
Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen!
hehehe :D i like how she said hi and bye yesterday :D
she wanted to tell you something today, but i forgot what it was. sorry.

you were in class. otherwise i woulda called you. heh.

holy jeebus...

it sounds like you had the most awesomest time at sdcc!! I get tired and energized when I read your posts. lol.

the con was so much fun! you should come next year :D

Any word on The Green Lantern? I heard Seth Rogen is taking that role. What about the Star Trek remake? Ok, so those are total "mark ass punk busta" questions since I don't read comics, don't buy comics, nor do I subscribe to them. Every name you mentioned looks like any other name I'd see in the phone directory. Translation: I don't know them.

So help a brutha out?

Oh shit, before I go...I was looking at a Yahoo slideshow report on Comicon best costumes. Most were obviously marginal or poor off shoots. Some looked like they went to the Halloween store, spray painted what they got, and voila, you got one of the "Incredibles". Ok, back to what I'm getting, on that Yahoo slideshow was some scraggly looking bastard who I guess was supposed to be "The Tick". Nothing unusual right? Unfortunately, his outfit was so tight, his MOOSE KNUCKLE (Male version of the Camel Toe) was all in it's glory. I don't think that silly goose realized it, but his junk managed to be on a Yahoo slideshow. Eugh.

Last question, what was your gimmick, outfit, or milkshake that brought all the boys to the yard, yelling "Wooot Wooot!" Or is it the whole riding the "Asian Coattails" thing?

i didn't hear anything about the green lantern. sorry... and oddly enough, there were NO panels on the star trek remake! they were giving away 4 different star trek posters that when you put them together makes the symbol, but that was it. crazy, huh?

OMG. yes. i didn't see that outfit, but i saw a couple of moose knuckles. UGH. sooooo wrong.

i'm just hot, dude. that's all there is to it. :P haha! all i was wearing was a tank top and shorts. it got steve's seal of approval, though, so i guess i looked okay in it. haha! boys are easily impressed, i guess. :P
I'm all hot and bothered just from reading this post. LOL. I love nearly all of the men you saw, especially Zachary Quinto. That guy is yummylicious. Tell me, is he very good-looking in person? Is he very tall? And doesn't he just have killer eyebrows? That Silo thing is really cute and funny. Now I have to find that season 3 ep of Heroes. Season 2 was really blah, but if you say that season 3 is looking better, I've got to believe you!

Oh, you kind of mentioned Dexter up there. Have you seen it before? (I can't remember if I've ever read your review on it.) I tried watching it this weekend but it didn't really 'grip' me like Burn Notice did within two minutes. Anyway the sound quality was pretty bad and I was tired, so I gave up after about 10 minutes. My cousin raves about it, but I wanna know what you think.

Also, put Klass in your Netflix queue. It's an Estonian movie about a kid who is bullied in school and eventually...well, watch it. I'm so bossy, I know, but do it. Hehe. :P
steve told me that it was the green hornet, not the green lantern. but either way, there was nothing at the con about it. hehe.
whenever i see zachary quinto, i think of sylar and i get scared as shit. hehe. he looks just about the same as he does on tv. you know how some people are even better looking in person? he seems about the same to me... i don't know about the height because i wasn't next to him or anything. and they sit waaaay up there on the panel on stage. :( sorry...

season 3, ep 1 kicked ass. seriously. i had chills the whole time. my eyes were all like saucers. hehe.

ah, yes. i love dexter. give it another shot. just keep watching it. love it. on another note, have you ever watched MI-5? i stopped watching it after a few seasons (for reasons i'll tell you after you get to season 3 or so. hehe) but it's really good, too. OH! and i also love this show called Hustle. it's also very good. oooh, and i JUST started watching a new one called State of Play. ooooh. it's good.

i looked for Klass, but they don't have it on netflix. :( unrelated, have you watched Brick?
Yes, Sylar's terrifying. But Zachary is so...mmm-mmm-mmm. Hehe There used to be a video on YouTube of him and the Indian guy what'shisname talking to and signing autographs for fans in Hollywood and Zachary was so friendly and easygoing and he laughed when one of the fans called him Zach...I dunno, I kinda fell in love with him there and then. So cute. Hehehe.

Okay, I'll give Dexter another chance this weekend. Nope, never heard of MI-5 or State of Play. I only heard of Hustle after you mentioned it in my blog. Noted, noted, noted. I'll find them all online. Hehe. Thanks, Grrrace!

Never seen Brick but I've heard good things. I need to see if there's a copy of it online somewhere. And as for Klass, if you're not averse to watching movies online, watch Klass here. That's where I watched it. Powerful, gripping stuff.
i love mohinder (i don't know his real name either. hehe). man, he is SO delicious. seriously.

i love tv. can you tell? :P hehehe.

cool. when i have a moment, i'll have to watch that. hehe. :) thx for the link. :)
oh no.... it's okay.. at least i'm coming this weekend heehee :D

SEMANTICS!!! Bah, you know what I mean. I know Seth Rogen is tabbed to play the The Green Hornet, the question is who is going to play Kato? My choice would be Tony Jaa...only because when Bruce Lee played Kato, he was one crazy, chop-saki, crane kicking bastard back in the day. Tony Jaa would do Kato justice!

Thanks go to Steve!

and she can bug you allll weekend. what time are you coming out? did you figure that out yet?
tony jaa's my hero. heh.
[this is good]
I haven't finished reading this post (it's so long!) but I just had to make a comment and say I'm so envious! I love NPH and Nathan Fillion! Grrrr! One of the worst moments of my life was discovering Serenity and then finding out it only ran for a season.
it's a long post. sorry. hehe. and i didn't even write all the details!!!

NPH and nathan fillion are AWESOME. hehe.

yes. i miss firefly, too. at least they got their movie, though. so, joss has a new show coming out. Dollhouse. i don't know why, but i feel like it's gonna get cut short, too.
oohhhh, i feel just like mia! i love you. did i mention i lurve you. looooooooove you! hehehe... wow, re: comic con, you are quite the name dropper! :D

really, though, that's cool that so many celebs showed up this year. that there are so many people around the local places these days, well, tony and i are blaming it all on gas prices. no one, including celebs, can afford to go anywhere... ha!

lemmee think... 6 lb loss, 2.5 lb gain = mega turd? hehehe
haha! i know. there were lots of celebs this year. it's just studios are realizing that even though for the most part comic-con attendees are a bunch of nerds, they're the ones who are creating buzz and dropping the cash to watch movies, etc. so they're kinda catering to them (us. whatever. hehe.)...

i WISH it was a mega turd!!!! hehehe. so, i think a pound of it was water weight. and 1.5 lbs was just weight gain. *shakes head* EPIC FAIL. hehe.
11:52am friday. sorry i forgot to check earlier hee..... :(
it's okay. :) thanks for letting me know. i've got it on my calendar now. hehe.

oh, she's going to g-ma's on friday. so yeah. you won't see her right away.
hahaha Yep, I meant Firefly. (geez, Jen!)

A very very nice friend got me the Serenity special DVD whatchamacallit that came out last year, around August I think. I was so sad after watching it because I kept thinking it would've been so nice if Firefly hadn't gotten cancelled and we could've watched the story develop.

If I had been there maybe I would've kissed Nathan Fillion! :-D
i watched Serenity first and i liked it so much i went back and watched Firefly. and i loved it so much i watched Serenity AGAIN. hehe.

i wish Firefly didn't get canceled either. but i am glad that at least they got their movie to wrap things up. :)

oh, man. trust me. i wanted to jump into nathan fillion's arms. tee hee!
